Viceroy is back with another installment of his Jet Life remix series, this time applying his signature “summertime, all the time” sound to Ginuwine’s “Pony”. Viceroy has come a long way since his days playing parties at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, but one thing is for certain—you will never be able to blame him for forgetting his musical roots. Coming of age in the early 2000’s meant that musical tastes were directly or indirectly shaped by the ubiquitous R&B/Rap tracks that dominated the airwaves. Viceroy has built a musical shrine to these artists, remixing the jams like Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It” and now Ginuwine’s classic “Pony”. “Everyone is asking me what ‘genre’ my new remix of ‘Pony’ is,” Viceroy said on Twitter yesterday. “I have no idea.
